Hello! My name is Jennifer Vazquez, and I am a freshman at University of North Texas, majoring in Computer Science. I come from a family of 8, me being the second born out of 7 siblings. I am excited in exploring and learning more about iFixit as well as creating future guides in fixing items.
As a little girl, I was always involved in playing dolls and tea-time with my sisters. One day, my cousin introduced me to video games, which from this day, is my top favorite hobby whenever I am bored. I have played in lots of consoles, different types of game genres, even played and earned all trophies available. Playing video games made me wonder how everything was made, like how the game was made to be played in the console itself. This is where I began opening up to technology.
I was also involved in building Legos as a kid. I LOVE to see the final results of Legos builds and place them onto my top shelf for decoration.
Taj Mahal Lego Build
As seen on the image, this is one of the complicated Legos I have built. It took me 3 days to finish and see the final product. One thing that I hated about this Lego build was that the pieces wouldn't stick together, so I glued them, keeping them in place. I really love how it came out, exposing the details made as the light shines on the Lego pieces.
Repair on a PS4 Controller
My first ever small repair was having to repair PS4 controllers given from my family members. One controller had problems with stick drift, so, I opened it up, and figured out how to fix that problem with guidance. I replaced the sensors from both joysticks (L & R), dust and cleaned around the area, and put everything back together. I have tested the controller on a game on its console, and it worked! I was very proud of myself and started to fix other controllers I had around the house.
