- Paul D. Fallon (The Synchronic and Diachronic Phonology of Ejectives, 2013) suggests that in "Jarai, ... implosives have changed to glottalized nasals" and says "in Jarai, /ˀb/ and /ˀd/ are sometimes analyzed as implosives." However, Jeffrey P. Williams (The Aesthetics of Grammar: Sound and Meaning, 2013) considers Jarai to have an implosive stop series, and Joshua Jensen transcribes the sound as an implosive.
