Inherited from Byzantine Greek *ἀλόγιαστος found as adverb ἀλόγιαστα, from ἀ- (a-) privative + λογιάζω, λογιασ-, a form of the ancient λογίζομαι (logízomai) + -τος (-tos). Doublet of αλόγιστος (alógistos).
