збруя
Ukrainian
Etymology
From Polish zbroja (“armour”), likely either through a nonstandard dialect (with stressed o -> u shift) or from genitive plural "zbrój" of the Polish word. Compare the Babia Góra dialectal meaning of Polish zbroja (“horse harness”). Cognate with Belarusian збру́я (zbrúja), Russian сбру́я (sbrúja). Doublet of збро́я (zbrója).
