Etymology
From *oyïnčïq (“toy”), from *oyïn (“game”), from Proto-Turkic *oy- (“to play; to jump”).
Immediately cognate with Tatar уенчык (uyençıq), Kazakh ойыншық (oyınşıq), Kyrgyz оюнчук (oyunçuq), Bashkir уйынсыҡ (uyïnsïq, “toy”), Uyghur ئويۇنچۇق (oyunchuq, “toy”).
Note the parallel archetype *oyïnčaq (“toy”), whence Uzbek oʻyinchoq, Turkish oyuncak, Turkmen oýunjak (“toy”), Karaim ойунцак.
