From Ukrainian рух (rux, movement) from Old East Slavic рꙋшити (rušiti) from Proto-Slavic *ruxъ from Proto-Indo-European *reu̯, or *rou̯, or *. Cognate with Lithuanian ruošа̀ (preparation), Lithuanian ruõšti (to prepare, to equip), Latvian rа̄oss (active, eager), Latin ruo (I hurry, I hasten, I collapse).[1]
