From a Mongolic source, from Proto-Mongolic *töle- (to pay).

Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (tölä-, to pay);[1] Kazakh төлеу (töleu), Kyrgyz төлөө (tölöö), Uzbek toʻlamoq, Uyghur تۆلىمەك (tölimek), Khakas тӧле- (tӧle-), Tuvan төлээр (töleer, to pay).

    Һалымдарҙы ваҡытында түләгеҙ.
    Halımdarźı vaqıtında tüləgeź.
    Pay taxes in time.
    Ваҡытында түләй алмаһалар, Грецияла дефолт булыуы ихтимал.
    Vaqıtında tüləy almahalar, Gretsiyala defolt bulıwı ixtimal.
    If they cannot pay in time, there may be a default in Greece (=Greece may default).
