מיילדת / מְיַלֶּדֶת • (m'yalédet) f (plural indefinite מיילדות / מְיַלְּדוֹת, masculine counterpart מיילד / מְיַלֵּד)

     וַיֹּאמֶר מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם לַמְיַלְּדֹת הָעִבְרִיֹּת אֲשֶׁר שֵׁם הָאַחַת שִׁפְרָה וְשֵׁם הַשֵּׁנִית פּוּעָה׃

     vayómer mélekh mitsráyim lam'yal'dót ha'ivriyót 'ashér shém ha'akhát shifrá v'shém hashenít pu'á.
     wayyṓmer méleḵ miṣráyim laməyalləḏōṯ hāʿiḇriyyōṯ ʾăšer šēm hāʾaḥaṯ šip̄rā wəšēm haššēnīṯ pūʿā.

     And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah;
