Etymology

Apparently a calque of Polish ponownie, Ukrainian знову (znovu), Belarusian зноў (znoŭ), Russian снова (snova), with German semantics.[1] Alternatively, צו (tsu) + Middle High German houf or hūfe, as if cognate to German zu Haufe.
