Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *lig-e-ti, from the root *leyg- (“to jump, play”); akin to Northern Kurdish lîstin (“to play”), Lithuanian láigyti (“to run around”), Swedish leka (“to play”), Latin Locusta and English Lira.
