زنطيط
Moroccan Arabic
Etymology
Of unclear origin; perhaps from a Berber language, or originally Arabic and loaned into Moroccan Berber varieties, in which case it may be related to Egyptian Arabic زنط (zunṭ, “bonnet, cap; neck”). Compare Moroccan Amazigh ⵜⴰⵥⵏⴹⵉⴹⵜ (taẓnḍiḍt, “tail”).
