Not attested in Middle Persian, but compare (šekan-, “to break”). Akin to Manichaean Parthian 𐫀𐫢𐫞𐫏𐫗𐫋 (ʾšqynj /⁠iškenǰ⁠/, “twisted rope”, attested only once), perhaps related to 𐫀𐫢𐫐𐫗 (ʾškn /⁠iškenn-⁠/, “to break”).
