Borrowed from Classical Persian قَرِيبًا (qarīban), from Arabic قَرِيبًا (qarīban), indefinite accusative of قَرِيب (qarīb, near, close), from the root ق ر ب (q r b). By surface analysis, क़रीब (qarīb) + -अन (-an).
