Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘤𑘳𑘚𑘤𑘳𑘚𑘰 (buḍabuḍā) (compare 𑘤𑘳𑘚𑘚𑘰 (buḍaḍā)), from a derivative of Sanskrit बुद्बुद (budbuda, bubble) (compare Sanskrit बुडबुड (buḍabuḍa), Maharastri Prakrit 𑀩𑀼𑀟𑀩𑀼𑀟𑁂𑀇 (buḍabuḍei)).[1] Compare Gujarati બુદબુદ (budbud), Hindustani بُلْبُلا (bulbulā) / बुलबुला (bulbulā), Sindhi بُلبُلو / बुल्बुलो, Punjabi ਬੁਲਬੁਲਾ (bulbulā) / بُلبُلا (bulbulā), Maithili बुद्बुद (budbud) / 𑒥𑒳𑒠𑓂𑒥𑒳𑒠 (budbuda), Bengali বুদ্বুদ (budbud), Assamese বুৰবুৰণি (burburoni).
