From Sanskrit वसुधा (vasudhā, “land; soil; earth; etc”, literally “bearer of wealth”), from वसु (vasu, “wealth; property; etc”) + धा (dhā, “bearer; maintainer; etc”); equivalent to Thai พสุ + ธา (taa). Cognate with Khmer ពសុធា (pɔɔsothiə).
