Etymology

ထက်ဝယ် (htak-wai) is a borrowing from Mon (ဂဇံ)ထဝါဲ (to sit cross-legged),[1][2] with Burmese verbs ဖွဲ့ (hpwai., to bind together) and ခွေ (hkwe, to coil, to curl) added. See also Burmese ထားဝယ် (hta:wai).
