雛罌粟

From 雛(ひな) (hina-, diminutive prefix, carrying favorable connotations such as a sense of cuteness) + 罌粟(けし) (keshi, “poppy”). The keshi changes to geshi as an instance of rendaku (連濁).

As with many terms that name organisms, this term is often spelled in katakana, especially in biological contexts (where katakana is customary), as ヒナゲシ.
