Etymology

Cognate to Northern Kurdish ra (rā, 'for') and Northern Kurdish re (ra. 'for'), and Persian rā. Compare Old Church Slavonic ради (radi, “because of”). Most probably originally instrumental singular of the noun rādi- (“accomplishment”).
