Etymology

Derived from Proto-Turkic *āŕ (few, very little), equivalent to 𐰀𐰕 (āz, few) + 𐰴𐰪𐰀 (-qïńa). Cognate with Old Uyghur ’’zxyn’ (azqïńa). Compare also Turkish azıcık (very few), diminutive of az (few).
