Azadirachta
Translingual
Etymology
Arabic أَزَادَرْخَت (ʔazādarḵat) transcribed Azadiracht in Latin editions of Avicenna's Canon of Medicine which schematically Latinized all names, in this case by taking over the Arabic name unchanged and adding the suffix + -a as trees use to be female in Latin.
