Named after Soma Beck (1872–1930), Hungarian dermatologist, and Yusuf Ibrahim (1877–1953), Egyptian-born German pediatrician.

A fungal infection in infants, characterized by red patches and small bumps on the skin or in the mouth, appearing at birth or a few days after birth.

Usage notes

This term has been superseded by congenital cutaneous candidiasis, due to the association of Yusuf Ibraham with Nazi euthanasia.
