Etymology
A name that is remnant of the ancient Ifa system of divination known as agbigba, cognate terms are found in almost every system of Ifa-like divination among the Edo, Yoruba, Igbo, Urhobo, and Nupe, equivalent to Ògúndá. Compare with Itsekiri Ègíté, Igala Èjítá, Edo Ìghítan, Igbo Ìɣítẹ (Nri), Igbo Ìjíte (Nsuka), Igbo Èjíte (Western Igbo), Idoma Èjítá, perhaps a distant Doublet of Ògúndá. Proposed to be derived from Proto-Yoruboid *ì-jítã́ or Proto-Yoruboid *ì-jíté
