  • Hróir, shortened from Hróðvér, from *Hróþiwíhar, *Hrōþiwīhaz, from Hrod (from hróðr (fame, praise)) + vér (fighter) (from the verb vega (to fight)).
  • Hróði, shortened from *Hrōþa, a variant of the above.
