• The word is the standard and most common form in Austria and South Tyrol, and can also be found less commonly in Switzerland and Southern Germany; this is in contrast to the also-indigenous Austrian Feber, which is now commonly replaced with Februar even in Austria.
• Uneducated people who do not have contact with speakers from these areas will likely not know, and hence not understand, this term.
