Kantaidd
Welsh
Etymology
From Kant (“surname of Prussian philosopher Immanuel Kant”) + -aidd.
Pronunciation
- (standard) IPA(key): /ˈkantai̯ð/
- (colloquial) IPA(key): /ˈkantɛð/
Usage notes
- Being derived from a proper name, Kantaidd does not have its spelling adapted to typical Welsh orthographic conventions, which do not use the letter k. See also Zwinglïaidd (“Zwinglian”).
- Like many other unnaturalised words recently derived from other languages, Kantaidd does not undergo initial mutation.
