Inherited from Sanskrit *कृत्यगृहिका (kṛtyagṛhikā, literally action house), from कृत्य (kṛtya) + गृह (gṛha) + -इका (-ikā). By surface analysis, 𑀓𑀘 (kaca /⁠kacca⁠/, Girnar) + *𑀕𑀭𑁆𑀳 (*garha) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀇𑀓𑀸- (-ikā-).
