Proto-Basque

Etymology

Probably native. Alternatively perhaps from Gothic *𐌰𐌹𐌽 𐌷𐌿𐌽𐌳 (*ain hund, literally β€œone hundred”). This derivation imposes itself phonetically, but is very problematic insofar as there are no direct borrowings from Gothic into Basque.

Numeral

*e(h)uN

  1. hundred
