Scafell

English

Proper noun

Scafell

  1. A mountain in Cumbria, England.

Usage notes

Wikipedia regards Scafell as a secondary peak, neighbouring Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. However, the Ordnance Survey makes no such distinction, listing Scafell Pike only. It may be better, therefore, to regard Scafell as the short form of Scafell Pike. The fell country to the south-west is named Sca Fell.

  • Sca-Fell, Sca Fell
