- (pharmacology) A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (trademark Celebrex) used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, acute pain, painful menstruation and menstrual symptoms, and to reduce numbers of colon and rectum polyps in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis.
