coppersmith (plural coppersmiths)

1. A person who forges things out of copper.
   • 1961 March, C.P. Boocock, “The organisation of Eastleigh Locomotive Works”, in Trains Illustrated, page 162:

     Eastleigh Locomotive Works: Layout and functions of shops [...] Coppersmiths: Preparation of boiler tubes and copper pipework.

2. A South Asian barbet, Psilopogon haemacephala, with crimson forehead and throat, best known for its metronomic call that has been likened to a coppersmith striking metal with a hammer.
