From an earlier craxi (whence Craxi), from Byzantine Greek κρασίον (krasíon, “blending”, diminutive), from Ancient Greek κρᾶσις (krâsis, “blending”). Compare with οίνος m (oínos). Cognate with Greek κρασί (krasí) and Mariupol Greek красы́ (krasý).
