Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *a-salwa,[1] a compound equivalent to a privative e- (from *a-, from Proto-Indo-European *n̥-) + gjellë, literally "without food".[2] Modern reinterpretation as simply e- + gjëlle (“starving”).
