hëngra
Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *gur-, from Proto-Indo-European *gʷerh₃- (“to swallow”). Cognate to Sanskrit गिरति (giráti, “to swallow”). From hangura, a suppletive verb, which occurs only in the aorist, the participle and in the tempora and modi based on these stems.[1] Structurally close to Hittite [Term?] (/tangarant/, “not having eaten”), Lithuanian kanká (“pain”), Old High German hungar (“hunger”).
