Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish ایچلمك (içilmek, to be drunk, be imbibed), from Proto-Turkic *ič-il-mek (to be drunk). Equivalent to iç- + -il (passive marker). Cognate with Karakhanid اِجِلْماكْ (ičilmēk, to be drunk).
