A more recently coined word, kom ja compliments ja ke, as a calqued term from Latin quoniam. The intended difference is that they reveal the cause, motive, reason or circumstance, instead of introducing it. The best ways to express the example above using kom ja would be:

• Kom el ja esis nefidela, il abandonis el.
• Kom el esis ja nefidela, il abandonis el.
