Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *alanā, compare Latin ulna (“forearm”), Ancient Greek ὠλένη (ōlénē).[1] According to Huld, it's a borrowing from an ancient greek dialect from the Argead Kingdom labeled as Ancient Macedonian *ὠlénā (*ōlénā).[2]
