From Proto-Igboid *ĩ́-`-ɟ- ṹ. Cognate with Ezaa ńzú, Izi ńdzú, Ukwuani-Aboh-Ndoni ńzú, Ika ńzṹ.[1] Further cognates include Nupe ezũ̀, Ibibio ńsáŋ, Esimbi ɛ́zi, Mada (Nigeria) ntə̄n.
