Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *per-ambi-uptja related to përmbi and ultimately to mbys. The second element *uptja is cognate with Greek ὑπὸ (hupò, “under”), Sanskrit उप (úpa, “towards, near to”) and Gothic uf (“under”).[1]
