Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *per-ambi-uptja related to përmbi and ultimately to mbys. The second element *uptja is cognate with Greek ὑπὸ (hupò, under), Sanskrit उप (úpa, towards, near to) and Gothic uf (under).[1]
