pilaki
Turkish
Etymology
From Ottoman Turkish پلكی (plaki, pilaki), from Greek πλακί (plakí).
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): /pilaːˈci/
- Hyphenation: pi‧la‧ki
Noun
pilaki (definite accusative pilakiyi, plural pilakiler)
Usage notes
In compound nouns of which this term is the head and the modifier is a term for the main ingredient, the head does (unlike what is usual in Turkish compound nouns) not take the possessive form. For example, a pilaki based on borlotti beans is called barbunya pilaki, not *barbunya pilakisi.
