Alternative forms

  • (rare) tua cabeça

Etymology

Calque of Cantonese 你個頭你个头 (nei5 go3 tau4, literally your head).

Phrase

teu cabeça (informal, colloquial)

  1. expression used to disagree with the speaker: my ass! my arse! nonsense!

"The soup is too salty, isn't it?" "Salty my ass! It's good."

Usage notes

  • tua cabeça would be the grammatically correct gender-agreeing form in Portuguese, however this form in particular is rarer than the usage with teu[1] (a masculine possessive pronoun).
