Inherited from Ottoman Turkish توافق (tevāfuḳ, a being or becoming in agreement with one another, agreement, correspondance),[1][2] from Arabic تَوَافُق (tawāfuq), verbal noun of تَوَافَقَ (tawāfaqa, to agree with one another).[3]
