From Middle High German zitern, Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value), from Old High German *zitarōn, zittarōn, from Proto-Germanic *titrōną. Cognate with Icelandic titra, English teeter (and possibly dither).
