emacs-snapshot: Could not find simple.el or simple.elc
I tried to install emacs-snapshot through their PPA on a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 LTS:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-elisp/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install emacs-snapshot
But when i try to start it, it gives me this error:…

Unable to install emacs-26.3 after removing emacs-28 (stuck without an editor!)
I've installed emacs28 from snapshot (emacs-snapshot-common) without realizing it's the latest bleeding edge and not the latests stable version.
I tried installing 26.3 from Kevin Kelly's repo, as described here, but got an error:
