When for the first time I chose LaTeX
for my undergraduate dissertation, once at a university lab Linux machine - lacking a LaTeX
installation -, I copied remotely the *.tex
files to a colleague's; then ran latex
successfully, in several rounds, while revising.
In less than five minutes, my colleague intervened promptly: "Hey, what is that latex
process you're running? It busies my machine almost 100%. Whatever you're doing, I have to disconnect you". And that was just it.
