I'm in the process of getting a BS in ECE. My coding is limited to basic java/C/python syntax. Someday, I would like to (in the next few years) be able to make web applets, games, Ardruino projects, and integrated Linux applications. It frustrates me that I know next to nothing about these things. I'm also hoping to catch up with comtemporary programming languages, Perl, Ruby and Python.
What I'm trying to say is I'm craving help in mastering the ins and outs of software engineering. I'm learning (every day) about the basics of programming. but the difficult step is crossing the gap between the 'hello world' basics and the advanced level stuff. I'm thinking simply doing little projects and getting advice from you guys will help me cross that gap and grow some skill.
