I'm a Linux systems administrator since 1996. I got started with Linux-like OSes in the 1980s, with OS-9/6809, and later OS-9/68000 on a machine I built myself (bare circuit board).

I'm also an electronics tech. I used to repair 2-way radios from about 1989 through 1994. I used to have my amateur radio license, but I allowed it to expire.

I also enjoy doing embedded design and programming with the AVR family of microcontrollers. My AVR endeavors led me to create the Internet's most popular AVR bit rate calculator.

I'm interested in security related topics. I appreciate the cleverness of the 'bad guys', and try to keep my systems secure.
