AKA the Unix Curmudgeon (that's Surly Unix Curmudgeon, to Windows users and admins), Larye has been messing around with computers since 1965, most recently as an independent systems administration and software engineering consultant with emphasis on high-performance computing and bioinformatics. In his spare time, he dabbles in web site programming and design, tandem bicycle touring, quilting, weaving, and aircraft construction. His areas of expertise are in Linux and Solaris administration and Perl, PHP, Ruby, and shell programming.
