I am able to maintain a smooth operation of multi-user UNIX computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. My duties have included but are not limited to; researching, converting, automating, migrating and or building Unix systems, setting up administrator, user and service accounts to include RBAC roles, maintaining system documentation, tuning system and application performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass shared or secured storage space. I interact directly with users and evaluate vendor products. I make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup and recovery of system OS and Oracle databases. I develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. I am responsible for documentation of all UNIX standard operating procedures in place and future installations or modifications of system resources. I am currently in transition of moving to the South Houston TX area and I am seeking a permanent position as a Unix Systems Administrator of Solaris or Red Hat Linux enterprise systems. I have over 30 years of Systems Administrator experience on Linux and Solaris, I have a public trust clearance and I am clearable for other higher levels. I am a natural US citizen and a US army veteran of 8 years. I am currently working for Lockheed Martin in the Baltimore MD area but I am willing to relocate to the South Houston TX area for the right job.
