I started taking pictures back in the '70s. My father had taken lots of pictures when he was in the Air Force back in the 50s using a 35mm Pentax rangefinder. He also had a twin lens reflex box camera. In my early teens, I started taking pictures using his cameras.
Later, after earning enough money from my part time job working at a grocery story, I bought a Canon AE-1 for $235 in San Antonio. Once I had that, my passion really took off. By 17 years old, I had setup a color darkroom in my parent's house using the laundry room. I learned about processing film and prints as the photo editor for my high school newspaper.
Nowadays, I shoot with a Nikon D90.
