Used Linux as my first router (NAT) based upon RH6 in the late nineties (routers were extremly expensive those days); On a 486DX learned how to deal with Linux. It was for several years our system till current router became so cheap.. that energy wise it was expensive to run that 486DX system anymore. In 2011 back in Linux to set up 2 webdav servers (SSH/https) for my son (documentary photographer in music) based upon Debian 6 LTS and still running ok; world wide accessible for him. So always at least 2 copy's of files are present, with a complete HD image of the systems disk, that can be replaced in minutes when needed. For me it is a hobby, but the challenge to make it work like it should is great.
